Berlin finally got its moment with Rick Owens — and it was nothing short of cinematic.
On October 24, the designer and his long-time muse Michèle Lamy hosted an intimate book signing at the new Rick Owens Berlin flagship, celebrating the release of Temple of Love, his latest publication and artistic reflection on three decades of radical elegance.
The event drew in an eclectic mix of devoted followers, artists, and fashion insiders — including Carina Bucspun and Stella Bucspun, the curators and founders of Berlin Insider, who were among those lucky enough to have their copies personally signed by Owens and Lamy.
They described the evening as magnetic and deeply atmospheric — surrounded by the brand’s loyal community, the minimalist brutalist space transformed into a temple of contrasts: cold marble, warm light, soft voices, and quiet awe.
Both were captivated by the ambiance and the warm yet mystic presence of Rick and Michèle — a duo that radiates discipline, intimacy, and creative rebellion.
Originally launched as a major retrospective at Palais Galliera in Paris, Temple of Love explores Owens’ world of contradictions — where austerity meets emotion, and luxury meets decay.
In Berlin, the narrative found its perfect echo: a city that thrives on tension, duality, and devotion to the avant-garde.
Rick Owens “When I first looked at the space, I asked myself — what would Joseph Beuys do?” Owens had said when announcing the store.
In Berlin, it seems, he already knew the answer.
